We’ll communicate with you via email and let you know when your account has been activated. It’s that simple. How do I withdraw funds from my CD at maturity?

What happens if the rate goes up after I open my CD?
The rate assigned at opening is fixed until first maturity. It is one of the positive aspects of investing with a CD, because while the rates might rise, if the rates go lower – you don’t have to worry, because you have a fixed rate.
What happens to my CD at maturity
For your convenience, a CD automatically renews at maturity. If you don’t want to renew, there is a 10-day grace period upon maturity in which you may withdraw the funds with no penalty.
What is the penalty for an early withdrawal from my CD?
A penalty for early withdrawal may be imposed and is determined by the term of the CD and CD balance. Call Sun Canyon Customer Care at 855-423-4602, OPTION 2 and a representative can easily explain the potential penalty based on your CD account.
What's the minimum opening deposit for a CD?
Minimum deposit to open a CD is $5,000.
What types of CDs do you offer?
We offer simple CD terms ranging from 6-months to 24-months.
When is interest posted to my CD account?
Interest will be posted to the CD account quarterly unless otherwise requested.

How many withdrawals can I make from my money market account each month?
Transfers or payments from a money market account are limited to six per calendar month. There is no limit on cash withdrawals made at the branch.
How many withdrawals can I make from my savings account each month?
Transfers or payments from a savings account are limited to six per calendar month. There is no limit to cash withdrawals made at the branch, but you can make up to four withdrawals per calendar month at no charge; beyond four withdrawals, a per item fee of $2 will be charged for each withdrawal.
Is there a monthly fee for a money market account?
There is no fee if the money market account maintains a $2,500 daily balance or $5,000 combined average balance in identified Sun Canyon products. A minimal $10 monthly fee will be charged when balance requirements are not maintained.
Is there a monthly fee for a savings account?
There is no fee if the savings account maintains a $250 daily balance or $2,500 combined average balance in identified Sun Canyon products. A minimal $5 monthly fee will be charged when balance requirements are not maintained.
What is the minimum deposit required to open a money market and/or a savings account?
For a savings account, only $250 is required to open the account. For a money market account that offers a higher interest rate opportunity, $2,500 is the minimum deposit required.
Checking & Debit Cards
Am I charged ATM fees?
Sun Canyon does not charge ATM fees for Sun Canyon ATMs or those within Allpoint network. Sun Canyon waives Sun Canyon ATM fees when using a non-Sun Canyon or non-Allpoint ATM for Sun Canyon Interest Checking and Sun Canyon Private Banking customers. Additionally, Sun Canyon will reimburse Interest Checking customers for ATM fees charged by the owners of non-Sun Canyon or non-Allpoint ATMs for eight (8) items, up to $25, per statement cycle. Private Banking customers will be reimbursed for ATM fees charged by the owners of non-Sun Canyon or non-Allpoint ATMs for 25 items, up to $95, per statement cycle.
Can I use my Sun Canyon Debit Card in my digital wallet and how does that work?
Yes. The process is slightly different for each operating system but it is a secure way to store your debit card in your digital wallet and you pay for in-store purchases by holding your device to the merchant’s payment terminal.
How does tiered-interest work with Sun Canyon Interest Checking?
Interest is based on tiered balances, so the higher the account balance, the more you earn. Tiers are designated at $2,500-$24,999; $25,000 - $49,999; $50,000 and above. Balances below $2,500 do not earn interest.
Is there a monthly fee for a checking account?
Simplified Checking
- $5 monthly fee can be avoided by one of the following: $500 daily balance is maintained in this checking account. $2,500 combined average balance in this account, identified checking, savings and money markets or minimum balance in certificate of deposit (CD). Minimum balance equals the current balance at the beginning of each statement period. Two (2) direct deposits per statement cycle. Eight (8) Sun Canyon Visa Debit Card purchases per statement cycle. Account holder is military, including active duty, reserves, or veterans (with proof of military status). Account holder is a student (age 24 or younger with proof of student status). Primary or secondary account holder is age 60 or over.
Interest Checking
- $5 monthly fee can be avoided by one of the following: $5,000 daily balance is maintained in this checking account. $20,000 combined average balance in this account, identified checking, savings and money markets or minimum balance in certificate of deposit (CD). Minimum balance equals the current balance at the beginning of each statement period.
Private Banking
- No monthly fee for qualified customers.
What is the minimum deposit to open a checking account?
The minimum deposit to open a Sun Canyon Checking Account is $50.
Will I pay for checks?
The first box of standard checks is free; 50% off future orders.
Digital Banking
Can I access Online Statements?
Yes, for your convenience, you will automatically receive online statements when you are enrolled in online banking. To view your online statement at any time, log into your Digital Banking and click Documents from the main menu, then Statements.
Can I export Online Banking transactions?
Yes. You may export using Quickbooks, Quicken, Comma Separated (.csv), PDF Document (.pdf), Word Document (.doc) and BAI2 File (user software required).
Can I set up alerts?
Yes. Once logged into your Online or Mobile Banking, click Manage Alerts from the main menu. You may set up custom (i.e. high/low balance, check cleared, deposit, login, etc.) and security alerts (i.e. email or password change, failed login, etc.).
How can I add or delete an account or set up transfers from one account to another?
After logging into your Digital Banking, click Messages from the main menu, then choose a form to submit. Select the Add-Delete-Transfer Account form and complete the appropriate sections, then submit.
How do I register for Online Banking?

Is there a fee for Online Banking?
No, Online Banking is free.
What if my password doesn't work?
Call Customer Care toll-free at 866-226-8377, option 2. You may also click the “Forgot Password” in the Login box, found after clicking on “Login” on homepage.
When are transactions posted to my account?
Transactions made online – Monday through Friday (excluding bank holidays) will be posted to that day’s activity, based on the following cut-off times: Digital Banking loan payments using an external account – by 3 pm CT; Mobile Check Deposit by 4 pm CT; Digital Banking (including Mobile App) Transfers, Payments, Advances between Sun Canyon accts & Person to Person (P2P) transfers by 7 pm CT. Transactions made after these cut-off times will be posted on the next business day.
Mobile Banking
Do I have to be enrolled in Sun Canyon Online Banking first?
You do not need to be enrolled in online banking. Click the “New User” button under the "Sign In" button. Once you enroll, you will automatically have access to online banking (through suncanyon.com).
Do I have to release any personal account information?
You're not required to enter any account or routing numbers to set up the app. You are only required to release personal information when enrolling for the app.
How do I change my password?
Customers simply change their password by logging into Online Banking or the app and going to “Manage Profile” and selecting “Security”, then the “Change Password” option. Customers may also change their password by selecting the “Forgot Password” link on the main screen or customers can call 855-423-4602 to change their password.
Is Mobile Banking safe?
Yes; Sun Canyon is committed to protecting our customer’s information and Mobile Banking is protected with state-of-the-art security technology. In addition to secured registration, log-in procedures and other security measures, no identifiable personal information is ever sent to or stored on your device.
Is my account information only updated once per day?
Your account information is refreshed via real-time updating.
Is this app equipped with push notifications?
Yes, you can turn on available push notifications if you like.
Once I download the app, will it require regular maintenance?
You will only need to update the app if there is a new version available. Your phone will notify you when new updates are available.
What do I need to do once I download the mobile app?
You simply click on the “New User” button once the app is downloaded and complete the short self-enrollment process (allow one business day for processing).
Where can I download the app?
You can download the app absolutely free by clicking the appropriate device app store button above, or by searching for Sun Canyon in your App Store or Google Play Store.
Which smartphones work with the app?
It's compatible with Apple and Android devices.
Mobile Check Deposit
How will I know if my check/deposit is accepted through Mobile Check Deposit?
An on-screen deposit confirmation is available on the “History - Previous Deposits” screen viewable within the App. Successfully submitted deposits to the bank will be listed as “Submitted;” accepted and processed deposits will be listed as “Approved;” and not accepted deposits will be listed as “Rejected.” Also, system generated email notices are sent to notify you of when deposits are received (submitted to bank), accepted (processed and approved) and not accepted (processed and rejected).
Is there a dollar amount limit of checks I can deposit through Mobile Check Deposit?
No, there is no dollar limit of checks you deposit. There is a total daily deposit limit of $5,000. If you want to deposit more than $5,000 per day, you need to contact the bank to request your limit to be increased.
Is there a fee to use Mobile Check Deposit?
Mobile Check Deposit is an absolutely free service for our customers.
Is there an endorsement requirement for checks I deposit through Mobile Check Deposit
Checks need to be endorsed with, “For Mobile Deposit Only“ and your signature.
What do I do with the paper check after I've deposited through Mobile Check Deposit?
Once the check has been accepted for Mobile Check Deposit, keep the paper check in a safe place for at least 14 days. After this time, and you have confirmed the funds are deposited, you can shred the check or mark it as VOID.
What is the cut off time for making deposits through Mobile Check Deposit?
Mobile Check Deposits received before 4 pm CT on Monday-Friday (excluding bank holidays) will be deposited that day. Deposits made after 4 pm CT will post to your account on the following business day.
What type of accounts are deposits accepted for through Mobile Check Deposit?
Deposits will be accepted for checking, savings or money market accounts.
What types of checks are not accepted for Mobile Check Deposit
Checks payable to any person or entity other than the person or entity that owns the account that the check is being deposited into; person or entity other than you. Checks containing an alteration on the front of the check or item, or which you know or suspect, or should know or suspect, are fraudulent or otherwise not authorized by the owner of the account on which the check is drawn. Checks payable jointly, unless deposited into an account in the name of all payees. Checks previously converted to a substitute check, as defined in Reg. CC. Checks drawn on a financial institution located outside the United States or not payable in United States currency. Checks that are remotely created checks, as defined in Reg. CC. Checks not payable in United States currency. Checks dated more than six months prior to the date of deposit. Checks or items prohibited by Sun Canyon's current procedures relating to the Services or which are otherwise not acceptable under the terms of your Sun Canyon account. Checks payable on sight or payable through Drafts, as defined in Reg. CC. Checks with any endorsement on the back other than that specified in this agreement. Checks that have previously been submitted through the Service or through a remote deposit capture service offered at any other financial institution. When will my funds be available for checks I deposited through Mobile Check Deposit?
Funds are generally available the next business day after the day of deposit. See applicable cut off times, stated above.
Why would my deposit reject through Mobile Check Deposit?
